Description

This project was probably the most problematic and labor intensive picture I've worked on in the past year. Flawed by hiccups and other issues (clarifying lineart, coloring, the eyes being too pixelated), this is as best as I could make it.

I got inspired by a few comic styles I saw recently from a few pictures and wanted to try the style myself. The linearting itself took about 10 hours and the coloring took about 2 times longer than my normal process, so overall it took about 22-24 hours of solid work over the course of a week and I don't know if I'm terribly satisfied with it. The little errors here and there really add up for me. Also, the logo was something I was doing out of boredom over the course of a few weeks so I found a use for it (finally).

Well, this is gonna be a poster (if I go through with making it into one) that resembles a comic book cover for Syron and his adventure to stop Kaius from piecing together the remnants of the Calamity Diamond. The dynamic celling on the lineart was the biggest pain and the entire lineart was done using the pen "fill" tool, not stroking.

A different style from me for sure, so I don't know if it's really all that good on the quality stage. I kinda was hoping it would turn out more professional so this result was so-so for me. :/

Anyway, I hope you like it.

I've got to say that I'm impressed greatly. The shading is very nice and the shading so very sleek. I have a bit of a love hate thing going on with the black shading, as it has a tendency to make things hard to see. For instance, I had a hard time seeing the leg behind Syron's hand, and I still can't tell where Cassira's right (that is her right...right?) arm/hand is. Other than that, the black shading adds a fantastic effect.

Secondly, I don't see much flow in the bangs of the characters. They appear to be jumping up, so there should be flow to their bangs. Like, Faulkner's bang would be flowing to the side of his head, due to his position; Syron's should flow upward; Cassira's would flow upward to the right of her. Is it because they are in space...?

Speaking of Cassira, since I can't locate her other arm, I assume it's to the side of her. That strikes me odd, and it would be a weird pose to jump/fly/float/whatever-they-are-doing-here. But that's just me. xD

I've got to say, I love the originality of Faulkner and Syron. Cassira however, and I mean this in no harm, but it's a bit too overused in this fandom--only her bangs though. I suggest changing them.

As stated before, the shading is just jaw-dropping. I also love how you interpreted each character's abilities/powers onto the picture. There is something that strikes me wrong about their powers: they are glowing. So shouldn't the glow from their powers be on the characters? There hardly is any reflecting glow on the characters--and their powers appear to be very close.

And this is probably because I can't see Cassira's whole body, but her body just looks a bit off. Then again, I can't see it all that well, so ignore this part.

Also, the black shading on Syron's tail seems...well, messy.

Other than that, terrific work, and I hope to see more from you.
