Ok, so first off, this is probably going to go down as one of my most difficult pictures to draw both in terms of concept and execution. (seriously the background took me a good 7 hours by itself). Started this last week and worked on it as I could. I wanted to Reintroduce two characters, One of which is pretty familiar, the other... you've heard of him and may have only caught glimpses of him, until now that is.
I reintroduce Faulkner Reidd the Cat and Mathis Crowe (his adversary and a Crow). I'm still working on the cat design of Faulk so expect it to develop more.
...the two are currently in a 'meeting' . Can Mr. Reidd Call you back later?
so a bit of backstory time, Faulkner and Mathis are arch enemies, both in terms of business competition as they both own the two leading robotics and weapons manufacturing corporations on Alaria (and subsequently in MetaNova City). Also, Mathis is and has been Kaius Grey's right hand man since before the Hylex project, so the 'rivalry' is far more personal than one would initially believe.
As most of you know, Faulkner has the unusual ability to generate gravity 'spheres' with a focussed gravitation field, allowing him to float, hover, and control objects in their proximity.
Mathis is an odd fellow. Since he saw the power behind his technology and weapons research, he began to replace his organic body with the cybernetic counterparts as he believed that they would further his potential rather than be held back by his own organic limitation. However, the more he augments himself, the more inhumane and brutal he becomes psychologically and physically. Therefore, there's a direct relation to his 'evilness' and how distorted his body becomes (story motifs? OH GAWD). Anyway, Mathis can fly as most birds can, but he can, because of his cybernetic augmentation) create dimensional portals in which he can fire objects and even sent his appendages through for hand to hand combat (picture getting punched in the back of the head from this guy because you didn't see him nail you through a dimensional portal.) However, he cannot go through the portal entirely (like in the portal game) or it causes a collapse trapping him in a dimensional pocket killing him.)
Villains are fun to make.
ANNNNYWAY, they're falling down the side of a skyscraper. The angle of this shot was incredibly hard to get (you have no idea) and i am aware it's a bit awkward in spots, but with something this complicated and it being something i've never attempted before, I know it isnt perfect, but i did my best. c:
Also, there are some 'cameos' in here. The BUNI sign features robot bunneh, which belongs to ~R0b0t8unny, The very very old drawing collaboration between me and *cat-meff of Gauss (who needs one hell of a redesign), A few of my other pics on the back billboard, and the 'GRIN' Logo for *Toughset industries.
Heh.
Anywa, it was good fun, but i might wanna scale back the complexity for the next image so I don't hurt myself xD.
