Contest Prize (and My first ever full anthro picture) for ~Axe-Cell for his character Roslan the Tamaskan. This was a blast and proves that I'm going to have a lot of fun doing anthro. I mapped out the muscle placement on a skeleton (and got it redlined a bit) so the anatomy is right. Think of a handplant dodge swinging out horizontally.
So I guess Roslan is in a crazy cathedral in the midst of a gunfight. Roslan can summon various blades using runes (hence I added the runic pattern on the blade itself).
I know it isnt Sonic like in the ref, but this seems to really flush out the character in its entirety. I would rather have that over something lesser.
I haven't commented on this yet? Well, okay Fantastic anthro work, I'm very impressed with the dynamic anatomy you used, especially with this being your first attempt! As usual you've pulled off a stunning quality of colouring which really accompanies the action of the scene well, and I love the details like the nicks on his armour! Awesome work, I look forward to more!
Wow. Awesome, dude! I don't think I have anything to critique! The detail is just so awesome and everything is just so well-executed. The highlights only make the character stand out even more. This Deviation has been faved.
i really love how you make it realistic for anime, if you understand what i mean. and im pretty impressed on how you actually can make thos smal detales as the stonewall, and how you make all look like, not sure how to say it. maybe glass
...WHOA. Dan, this picture is brilliant! When you said anthro in that poll, I didn't expect anything less than amazing, and I was right. It's evident you took a lot of time with this picture. The cathedral idea you gave this turned out wonderful! The textures of the walls and the reflections off the floor really add a lot of depth into the picture! (the cracks in the glass and the rain outside were nice touches, too) As for Roslan in an anthro style? I didn't think it could be pulled off easily, but you were able to. The details and cracks of his outfit were very well done! And Roslan's expression turned out really fierce! My favorite part of this is probably the sword Roslan's holding- it has a unique design and is overall beautiful like the rest of the picture.
