I got tagged by this scrub :iconlucain24: to do a bit of a trivia about various characters I own.  Also its his birthday, go scream at him and feed him delicious cak.

I've decided that because I cannot pick between characters, I'm going to do a few of them.  I'll just do it in order or something.

Cool Character Facts!  The Uber Long Meme!

Character Uno:

Syron Grey

1. Syron has a mutation caused by the Hylex element dubbed 'crystalaria', which causes parts of his body to become crystalized, but also be in-tune with his ability of sound control.  However, he has one of 3 isotopes of the element : Alpha Variant.  Beta Variant is used by Kaius, and Gamma Variant, the only naturally occurring variant, is found in [Spoiler Alert].  Each crystal Isotope is also defined by a different growth pattern.  Syron has tetrahedronal spine crystals, Kaius has orange Hexagonal Pillar crystals, and [Spoiler Alert] has rectangular prism crystals.

2. Because of the Crystalaria mutation, Syron technically has the option at reforming his forearms using the crystals floating near his body to rebuild tissue and bone structure from Hylex.  However, it is more convenient and adaptive to him to keep his arms detached for the sake of mobility and weapon adaptation of his crystals around him.

3. Syron, despite having an extraordinary ability, has a rather ordinary dayjob.  He is a parcel carrier/deliveryboy for his employer and best-friend, Faulkner, and is tasked with delivering high-importance parcels in record time.

4.Each of his crystal formations is synchronized with a music genre, using the beat of the music to better calculate his abilities in various situations.  Balance formation is assigned to breakbeat, Power to dubstep, Pulse to trance/glitchhop, Dragonfly to drum and bass.  Shield mode simply distorts the beat using a break in the tempo similar to a mix-down in a DJ set, complicating the rhythm in a way that is musically in tune with each genre.

5.  The blue streak in his hair is artificial, his natural fur accent color is white only.

6.  The gloves he wears actually contain the required components to not only soundcheck his own wavelengths, but sync with music, as they both contain the needed computing systems for sound playback and file storage.  Aka, His gloves contain Equalizers and players.

7. The headphones around his head are designed to help Syron get a better idea of his waveform, as the sound can become so intense next to his body, that getting a clear idea of its nature without distortion becomes hard.  They also reduce the sound-fields around his ears to the point where they are less damaging in the event of large overloads.  Without the headset, Syron risks damaging his ears, but only in cases of very large soundloads.  (note: In metamorphosis, the headphones are not present as they have actually been destroyed by the sound coming from Syron himself.)

8. Syron is in possession of a locket given to him by Cassira.  It is not revealed what is in this locket until the epilogue of his story.  It is also the only reason Cassira recognizes him upon confrontation with him 5 years after his mutation and separation from her due to his missing status.

9. In his first design, Syron was green. (the one i lost and never uploaded)

10. Syron thematically represents the conflict of new technology in modern society and how each innovation wields a goodside and a bad one, and how we can use technology for both good applications and bad ones (weapons), and how even though we can be afraid of the damage something can do, we must also acknowledge that we can accomplish beautiful things with it as well, and how we as a species must be able to find balance with both parts in order to progress into the future.  Hylex is dangerous to the point of almost causing the end of the world, but it was also capable of saving Sophia Grey from a fatal neurological disease, and eventually was used by Syron to [Huge mofo of a spoiler]

Character Duo?
Scotchy Scotch Scotch by DanSyron
Faulkner Reidd

1.) Faulkner is the head of Datastorm Industries, and while 24 years old canonically, he is head of one of the most sought after robotics and weapons dev companies on the Planet.  That said, he can't cook for hell, and is incredibly embarrassed at his lack of ability to consistently mess up every recipe he touches.

2.) On late work nights, he sometimes indulges in a very specific brand of scotch he's manufactured himself, which also causes him to hallucinate talking clownfish in his office tank.

3.) Faulkner's ability, Gravity Field Manipulation, is something he intentionally keeps under wraps.  After being locked in a particle accelerator ring during a test to evaluate the Higgs-Boson fields needed to develop a gravity weapon, he was subsequently given the ability to cast and create gold supergravitational fields ONLY in the presence of Gold atoms.  However, believing it might risk all business interactions, he attempts to hide it, and his power is only known by a handful of people.

4.) Faulkner is also the only member of the Syron cast to kill someone, and kill someone intentionally, as a direct result of his power.

5.) He is a direct business and personal rival/enemy of Mathis Crowe, of the neighboring Crowe Corporation.  Crowe, having a long history of cooperation with Kaius Grey, not only wants to stomp out Faulkner's business, but kill him in the process, only after manipulating him to the breaking point.

6.) Faulkner is the designer of the Hylex project's machine that merged Syron with the Calamity diamond and Variant Alpha, working as an understudy to Kaius unknownst of its final use bound by a nondisclosure agreement.  He got to firsthand witness what his mis-application of technology did to someone completely innocent, and is responsible for Syron's condition, even though Kaius is the one who changed it to work for his own agenda.  Because of this, Faulkner has told no one, including Syron.  However, the only 2 people who know of this besides Faulkner are Kaius and Mathis, and its used as blackmail as frequently as possible.

7.) Faulkner is partners with his dropship pilot, Morgan Skye.

8.) The 'Megalo Unit' referenced in the animation is actually the interior of Faulkner's primary project, The Defensive Operations Guardian mech nicknamed "Gauss". He designed it with intent of showing that it was possible to grant an artificial being with a Soul, and while called a farce for doing it, being heavily ridiculed at a wasted application of technology, manages to successfully give Gauss an operational Soul Drive.  The mech's exterior is largely modeled after a Doberman.  Gauss is also a character originally mentioned years back in the FC version of the Syron Universe, and has yet to be depicted in his newest iteration.

9.) Faulkner's gravity power is actually the most dangerous of all the character abilities in the Syron universe, not only capable of creating incredible forces acting on physical objects, but can use Space-Time distortion via theory of gravitational relativity.  Super dense fields of gravity can not only crush large objects, but can slow down time for a target, while the world speeds along without them.  This can be used to get out of tricky situations, but more frighteningly, victims of super-overloaded fields might only experience what feels like a few seconds, when in reality, weeks, months, or years can pass.

10.) Faulkner represents the beneficial branch of technology advancement for modern society, referring to how science can progress when maintaining a moral compass, but also shows how sometimes that moral compass can fail.  However, it also shows how as a society we have learned from our technological mistakes to improve for the future.

Character 3!
Cassira the Wolf (Anthro Reference) by DanSyron
Cassira Solarov

1.) The origin of her name is a typo.  It was originally supposed to be Carissa, but the typo stuck and I ran with it.  Solarov is in direct reference to her solar-light powers.

2.) Her powers are a foil to Syron.  Light and Sound are both different types of energy wavelengths, and form 2 of the 3 in the story, the third being thermal energy (Kaius), which is where the triad of powers was derived.

3.) Her eye was forfeited on her own behalf as part of the Soul Prism right-of-passage from the Pasiphae Legion

4.) In Greek Mythology, Pasiphae is the Daughter of Helios, god of the Sun.  The Pasiphae Legion is a light-manipulating and worshiping culture.

5.) Cassira can tagteam with Faulkner to stack powers.  Since Gravity has been scientifically proven to alter light, Faulkner can bend Cassira's light for her, allowing incredible Synergies.  This also further proves how Faulkner is incredibly dangerous because his powers can effectively nullify anything Cassira throws at him.

6.) I'm scared to death that Cassira will be seen as a sexual object rather than the badass female character I've worked getting her to be.

7.) She was derived from a Sonic Riders concept after I worked with the idea of treating the shield as a lightboard.  Since then, I've modified it so the shield is equally used as a weapon.  Her Soul Prism is at the heart of the Shield.  Because of this, meaning part of her soul is in the shield at all times.  Separating the shield from her immediate vicinity can cause her physical harm.

8.) She likes collecting different styles of eyepatches and has a 'thing' for using them as a personal touch of flair to her uniform.

9.) Her design was heavily influenced by Amelia from Treasure Planet.

10.) She thematically represents failed technology and how society can use mistakes and failures from unsuccessful technology to improve and better new innovations.  Remembering where we have collectively failed is vital to make sure history does not repeat itself.

Last but not least:

Kaius Grey.

1.) Kaius, Syron's Father, uses the Beta Variant of Hylex, conducting the wavelengths responsible for thermal radiation.

2.) Kaius' Power, due to the nature of thermal radiation, cannot be focused as well as any of the other powers (save for Faulkner's gravity) and is inherently more destructive.  Therefore he uses 2 giant steam-powered piston hands to conduct thermal bursts as well as house his larger crystal pieces.  The gloves also derive usable steam from the air using a condenser, which he can use to create blasts of superheated steam for propulsion and as a weapon.  The condenser also purifies incoming oxygen to use as an oxidizer to his flames, increasing the volatility.  They require no outside power to run and use the pure heat from Kaius as an engine.

3.) Kaius is operating as an antagonist but not under his own volition, and the sentient artifact (Lens of Betrayal) he discovered below the Lunar surface is actually responsible for his destructive tendencies.  Kaius is actually a slave to it, and is by nature, a benevolent character.

4.) Kaius and Mathis Crowe are long-standing collaborators.  However, it is not known if Mathis is just using Kaius to gain ground on Faulkner or for Personal agenda.

5.) Kaius, being capable of thermal radiation abilities, can use these temperature fluctuations to create low-pressure zones in the air, which can not only cause immediate cooling and cold-snapping (ice formation), but can be used to derive breathable air from an area, suffocating those caught in the pressure difference zone.  He can also superheat air around him to stop some projectiles from hitting him.  However, without an oxidizer, he cannot actually create fire, even though he can transfer heat.  In space (vacuum) he can heat up surfaces, but not cause fire.  However the oxygen canisters in the gloves can help him create fires where he otherwise couldn't.

6.) He fashioned himself a cigarette wand with a small crystal at its point to help light it.  This serves 2 purposes:  1.) his addiction to smoke and his own fire, 2.) to allow him to always have something to cause a fire in the event his crystals are separated from him.  Since he has a different isotope of Hylex, its range is far shorter.  Kaius is effectively powerless if more than 20 meters from his crystals.  The Cigarette wand always ensures he's next to one.

7.) Kaius has only 2 giant floating crystals behind him, opposed to Syron, who has four.  He has the ability to slide them in and out of the back of the gloves as he sees fit, but he keeps them tethered in the gloves to ensure he is not accidentally separated.

8.) Kaius (in the epilogue) is the one who reveals the contents of Syron's Locket.

9.) Kaius is not an inherently violent antagonist, and while he enjoys firestarting, he does not do harm to others unless he has no other options.  To him, its a waste of energy that can be used elsewhere to a greater advantage, and is often very polite in his manner, despite him being a villain.  It directly contrasts Mathis' demeanor, possibly showing that Mathis is far FAR worse than Kaius.

10.) Kaius is symbolic of the destructive (negative) tendencies of mankind under the guise of morality and self-justification.  As technology develops for us as a modern society, others with intent to do bad with their advancements often deeply believe what they're doing with their harm is for the good of some motive.  In this case, Kaius is literally doing his bad deeds out of love and remorse for his lost wife and love for his son (although horribly skewed through the Lens of Betrayal {heyoo metaphors}).  However it is also symbolic that those stances and bad advances, although unforgivable, can be used to make for a better future once society realizes the harm it has done and vows to never return to it (Kaius realizing he's responsible for [Spoiler Alert]).

*bonus fact* All the major characters in the Syron storyline have a theme relating to technological progress in some form or another, Ranging form what I've already said, to Mathis (the progression of bad technology with lack of a moral compass in the pursuit of pure satisfaction and power).  It serves as a more overarching theme that helps better drive character interactions and development, and helps the overall commentary beg a larger question in the audience who views my characters).

OK now if you want to do this meme, you dont need to do 4 characters like I did, all you need to do is one. I just got carried away.

So I tag:
:icontoughset::iconfreakyed::iconimagni:(if you see it),:iconq8yshadow:(assuming you havent done it),:iconfriskecrisps:, and anyone else nerdy enough.

Also, thanks for reading if you stuck through it.  I don't get very much opportunity to contextually introduce more about my characters outside of pictures.  Maybe It'll help inspire you to delve into your characters more. :)

Awesome designs! Very interesting to read all the way through! I wish you'd do more of these (for the high roller characters as well) but I'm glad you went and did 4 instead of just one here! It's always interesting to read about your characters and It'd be cool to know more about Mathis. My favorite is Faulkner and my brother's favorite it Cassira. He loves her weapon the most!
